Out Door Classes

Ocean Fitness outdoor fitness classes consist of a variety of different exercise classes that have been safely modified to be carried out outside of our main building. We have carefully set up a designated outdoor exercise class areas. All outdoor classes are deliveried in a similar fashion to our normal indoor classes. All classes listed below will be taught by one of our highly qualified Ocean Fitness instructors.

Due to Covid-19 classes will be limited to a reduced number of participants. Our special outdoor training area is well ventilated and has sanitising stations. All outdoor classes will be 30 or 45 minutes in length.

Running Club

Monday/Friday

See the sunrise each day over Galway Bay as you run Salthill Promenade and Salthill Park. This class will also include a variety of hill sprints and/or bodyweight exercises.

Kettlebells

Tuesday/WEDNESDAY

Build muscle, burn fat and challenge your cardiovascular system in this outdoor workout. Swing, squat and press your way right to the end.

Difficulty - All levels


Metaburner

Tuesday/Thursday/FRIDAY/SATURDAY

This class is all about variety. Using kettlebells and bodyweight exercises with a focus on strength and muscle endurance. Add in a blast of HIIT throughout using body weight drills and you have an amazing recipe for success.

Difficulty - Intermediate/advance


Resistance Bands

MONDAY/WEDNESDAY

Resistance bands, also known as workout bands or exercise bands, are stretchable bands of different sizes used for both strength training and general fitness. This class will focus mainly on eccentric and isometric methods of training. Resistance bands can be used to target every major muscle group on your body and deliver an extremely challenging workout. All bands will be supplied for this class.

Tabata

mONDAY/TUESDAY/FRIDAY/SUNDAY

Using primarily kettlebells and bodyweight this high intensity class with short rest periods will work your cardiovascular and muscular system like no other. Work for 20 seconds, rest 10 seconds and repeat.

Difficulty - Intermediate/advanced


Ocean Circuit

WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY

This class involves endurance training, resistance training and high intensity aerobic training. All exercises performed in a circuit, focusing on strength building and muscular endurance.

Difficulty - Beginner/Intermediate


Pilates

MONDAY/WEDNESDAY/THURSDAY

Pilates works by strengthening the core muscles of the body and improves support to your joints and spinal stability. Pilates exercises focus on strengthening the central core deep abdominal, pelvic floor and lower back muscles, which allows for more balanced and controlled body movement.
